ThalesRaytheonSystems signs $8.9 million contract with the U. S. Air and Missile Command - AMCOM - to provide Life Cycle Contractor Support for the US Army AN/MPQ-64 Sentinel Radars

Monday February 3, 2003

ThalesRaytheonSystems , has been awarded an $8.9 million firm-fixed-price contract to provide required material, repair parts, maintenance, and information system management necessary to support the Sentinel AN/MPQ-64 radars fielded by the US Army.

The contract also includes two, one year options worth $9.0 million and $9.1 million respectively. The goal of the Life Cycle Contractor Support (LCCS) contract is to provide the necessary support to achieve a minimum unit equipment readiness and overall fleet equipment readiness of 90%.
The LCCS contract will provide complete support of the Sentinel radar system with the exception of the High-Mobility Multi-Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV), Communications Equipment, Position Location Equipment, Tactical Quiet Generator and the unmodified portions of the Heavy HMMWV Trailer. The LCCS system shall be transparent to the user and include a system interface design with the Sentinel Total Asset Management System (STAMS).
LCCS will provide affordable readiness support through a partnership between the Sentinel Product Office, the DOD Depot System, Air Defense Units, and the Contractor. It will reduce reliance on a continually decreasing and shrinking government work force. LCCS is the next big step beyond the existing Interim Contractor Support (ICS) Contract.
ThalesRaytheonSystems is an equally owned transatlantic joint venture (JV) between Raytheon Company and Thales Group. ThalesRaytheonSystems is a worldwide supplier of air defense command and control centers (ADCC) and ground based battlefield radars. Annual income is close to 700 million dollars with 1300 people employed.
