ThalesRaytheonSystems, Ltd. (TRS), the equally-owned transatlantic joint venture between Thales Group and Raytheon Company, today announced several senior management appointments.
Michel Mathieu has been named TRS chief executive officer replacing Terry Heil who has been appointed chairman of the joint venture. Lou Laroche has been named chief financial officer, succeeding Pierre Didierjean, who is taking up a new position in the Thales Group.
Michel Mathieu joined Thales Group in 1977. In 1997, he was appointed CEO of the JV formed by Thales and Siemens to merge their air traffic management businesses. In 2003, he was appointed senior
vice president of Thales Air Defence. His involvement in ThalesRaytheonSystems started at the end of 2003 when he was appointed chairman. He graduated from the Ecole Nationale Sup�rieure des T�l�communications in France and has a doctorate in computer science.
Terry Heil joined E-Systems in 1988 (later acquired by Raytheon) and was appointed senior vice president of Raytheon E-Systems in 1994. After senior positions in the C3I (command, control, communications and intelligence) field, he was elected a Raytheon Company vice president in 1996 and was appointed chief executive officer of ThalesRaytheonSystems Ltd. in 2002. He earned his master�s of science degree and doctorate in mathematics from the University of Arizona in Tucson.
Lou Laroche has been with Raytheon for more than 25 years. After successive business management and finance positions, he was controller for Raytheon Electronic Systems. He is currently chief financial officer of Raytheon Technical Services Company, Reston, Va. He received his bachelor�s degree in economics from the University of Massachusetts.
