Financial details of the contract were not disclosed. The upgrade will create a new Air Defense Sector Operations Center and includes the installation of one new long-range air defense radar.

FULLERTON, Calif., (Sept. 6, 2007) – ThalesRaytheonSystems has received a $25.6 million contract to provide the U.S. Air Force with capability upgrades to the Battle Control System-Fixed (BCS-F) for Air Combat Command, NORAD (North American Aerospace Defense) and Air Forces Northern (AFNORTH).

FULLERTON, Calif., (Nov.1 2006) – The U.S. Air Force Battle Control System (BCS) program was recently declared operational in Alaska, Hawaii and Canada. Two other BCS sites, New York and Washington state are partially operational and expected to be totally operational early next year.

FULLERTON, Calif., (May 11, 2006) – ThalesRaytheonSystems will deliver an integrated air surveillance system to protect Mexico’s homeland and its oil production infrastructure in the Gulf of Mexico. The contract was awarded to ThalesRaytheonSystems by the Mexican Navy and PEMEX-Exploración y Production. PEMEX, one of the United States’ largest oil suppliers, operates a large number of platforms, refineries and other petrochemical facilities in the Gulf.

The new Detection and Control Center located at the air base in Mont-de-Marsan was inaugurated two months ago. France can now boast one of the best systems in the world in terms of power, reliability and functionality. FULLERTON, Calif., (Aug. 1, 2005) - ThalesRaytheonSystems Company (TRS) has been awarded a $130 million contract modification to provide spare parts to support the AN/TPQ-36 and AN/TPQ-37 Firefinder weapon locating radars fielded by the U.S. Army. The modification adds part numbers and increases quantities of critical spare parts to ensure radar readiness for the Army’s weapon locating radars worldwide, including those deployed in current operating theaters. This award brings the total value of the contract to more than $220 million.

FULLERTON, Calif., (Nov. 10, 2004). Thales RaytheonSystems (TRS) Company has been awarded a $13.1 million dollar firm-fixed price contract by the U.S. Army Air and Missile Command for the production and integration of more than 20 AN/MPQ-64 Sentinel Radar Modernization kits. The AN/MPQ-64 Sentinel Radar is a highly mobile, ground based, air defense radar that automatically detects, tracks, identifies, classifies and reports airborne targets to supporting weapons systems for engagements of hostile targets. The kits will provide the Sentinel Radars with increased detection and acquisition ranges, improved target classification and greater detection of smaller targets in both clear and cluttered environments. This is the second contract for modernization kits awarded to TRS in the past two years as the U.S. Army continues to move forward with implementation of its P3I (pre-planned product improvement) program for the Sentinel Radar.

SEROS II (Semmerzake Radar Operating System # 2), Belgium’s new military air traffic control system, was officially inaugurated on Tuesday March 9, 2004. The system has been operating at the Semmerzake control center since October 2003, controlling military airspace over Belgium and Luxembourg—one of Europe’s densest air traffic regions.
Florako, the Swiss air forces’ new air defense and air operations command-and-control system, went live at the start of February.

The FLORAKO System entered operational service on 2 February after successfully completing final tests and operating in parallel alongside the old FLORIDA air defense system. After a competitive bidding process, the Indonesian Ministry of Defense & Air forces have awarded ThalesRaytheonSystems a contract to supply a turnkey system that includes a radar, detection and control centre, and communications and power systems. The system will be based in eastern Indonesia.
ThalesRaytheonSystems has signed a 70 M€ contract with the French defense procurement agency, Délégation Générale pour l'Armement (DGA), to develop a demonstrator for a new generation of air defense radar.

The BCS program provides the replacement system for the current Regional Air Operations Center/Air Defense Sector delivered in 1984 by Hughes Command and Control Systems, Fullerton Calif., which is now ThalesRaytheonSystems Company, . The initial BCS-Fixed (BCS-F), Spiral 1 contract, awarded in April 2003, provides fixed site installations at the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) and Pacific Command. The system provides commanders with an interoperable, open-architecture air defense command and control platform in support of NORAD’s homeland defense mission. The contract modification adds three additional sites: the North East Air Defense Sector, Rome, N.Y.; the Western Air Defense Sector located at McChord Air Force Base, Wash.; and the Alaskan Regional Air Operations Center at Elmendorf, Alaska. Future options are included for the spiral development of BCS , including its use in the mobile Control and Reporting Centers, often referred to as BCS-Mobile.

ThalesRaytheonSystems (TRS) Company has been awarded a $22.3 million dollar firm-fixed price contract to provide the Battle Control System (BCS) Fixed, Spiral 1 for the United States Air Force. The BCS program will provide the replacement system for the current Regional Air Operations Center/Air Defense Sector (RAOC-ADS) delivered in 1984 by Hughes Command and Control Systems, Fullerton, Calif., which is now ThalesRaytheonSystems Company . The BCS Fixed (BCS-F), Spiral 1 program will provide fixed site installations at the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) and Pacific Command commanders with an interoperable, open-architecture air defense command and control platform in support of ORAD’s Homeland Defense Mission. The contract includes $7.7 million in options for installation of BCS at four additional sites. Future options are included for the spiral development of BCS, including its use in the mobile Control and Reporting Centers (CRCs), often referred to as BCS Mobile BCS-M). Total funds for the contract have been obligated by the contracting activity, Electronic Systems Center, Hanscom Air Force Base, Mass. ThalesRaytheonSystems, has received a $38 million contract modification award, which increases the quantity of AN/TPQ-37(V)3 Weapon Locating Radars sold to India in a Foreign Military Sale contract, as well as training, technical support and spare parts through the first quarter of 2008. This contract modification brings the overall contract value to $142.4 million.
ThalesRaytheonSystems, has been awarded a $45 million dollar firm-fixed price contract to upgrade TPQ-36A Air Surveillance Radars for the Royal Norwegian Air Force (RNoAF).

The RNoAF’s TPQ-36A is the predecessor system to the AN/MPQ-64 Sentinel Air Defense Radar, a highly mobile ground-based air defense unit currently fielded within the US Army and four other nations.

The new contract involves further work to enhance reliability of the system and communications architectures of the Control and Detection Centres (CDC). This will improve France's air defence capability, reducing the number of CDCs from six to four and accommodating their future development within the ACCS programme. ThalesRaytheonSystems and its co-contractors will deploy new-generation Visu 5 display consoles at the CDCs at Drachenbonn, Cinq-Mars-la-Pile and Mont-de-Marsan to replace earlier-generation Visu 3 and Visu 4 consoles, as well as associated communication systems.
India has signed an agreement with the U.S. government to buy eight Thales Raytheon Systems’ AN/TPQ-37 Firefinder counter-battery artillery radars with related support.

The existing system will be completely renovated under the new contract to strengthen the French Air Force's air command and control capability in external theatres of operations, where allied forces may be required to conduct joint air operations. The objective for C3M is to achieve a high level of interoperability and to enable France to assume the role of "framework nation" in future multinational engagements.
A Thales Raytheon Systems radar will help protect the airspace against low flying aircraft that might prove to threaten the Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City.
