MASSY, France and FULLERTON, Calif., (July 31, 2009) – ThalesRaytheonSystems (TRS) today announced the completion of its current senior leadership rotation with the selection of Richard Deakin as Chairman of the Board of Directors, and Geoffroy de Pontevès as Chief Financial Officer.
These appointments follow the June announcement that Jack G. Harrington would become TRS’ new Chief Executive Officer. The periodic rotation of senior management positions is specified under the ThalesRaytheonSystems joint venture agreement.
Deakin, who remains Senior Vice President of Thales’s Air Systems Division, has more than 20 years of experience in major programs in the aerospace and defense industry sector, including 17 years at British Aerospace and positions with TRW Aeronautical Systems and GKN Aerospace Services. In the TRS Board role, he succeeds Brian McKeon, who remains Managing Director and Chief Executive of Raytheon Systems Limited.
De Pontevès comes to TRS from the Thales Group, where he specialized in international business development and acquisition. De Pontevès’ experience spans 20 years in finance and technology, including positions with Valeo Distribution, where he integrated new business and oversaw finance, information technology and exports for operations in France. De Pontevès replaces Louis P. Laroche, who becomes TRS Chief Operating Officer for U.S. Operations.
ThalesRaytheonSystems is an international company specializing in air defense systems and a global leader of air operation command and control systems, 3D air defense radars, battlefield and counter-battery radars. The company’s annual revenue in 2008 was $900 million, and it employs 1,600 people. ThalesRaytheonSystems is equally owned by Raytheon and Thales.
