ACCS Loc 1 - NATO’s Integrated C2 System

ThalesRaytheonSystems is the prime contractor for NATO’s Air Command and Control System Level of Capability 1 (ACCS LOC1). ACCS LOC1 sets new standards of integration for air operations in Europe, providing a single, integrated approach to planning, tasking, monitoring and mission execution. The program will replace existing air C2 systems in Europe, with all NATO member countries using the same system of hardware and software, and sharing operational data over a high-speed communications network.

ACCS is designed to be interoperable with all other NATO and national C2 systems and feature interfaces to more than 160 different communications protocols, tactical data links and internal and external information sources.

ACCS will provide Network Centric Capability

ThalesRaytheonSystems will deliver to NATO a system that includes the essential features to be the key system to support NATO's Network Enabled Capabilities for Air Operations.

ACCS is standards based, fully compliant with NATO C3 Technical Architecture (NC3TA) and NATO architecture Framework (NAF), using non-proprietary Internet protocols and formats, for data storage, retrieval and communications.

ACCS will support NATO Deployed Operations

ACCS is a fully deployable system and will be able to support any NATO out of area operations.   The deployable version of ACCS can be used for Combined Joint Task Force operations, peacekeeping, crisis operations, supporting the NATO Response Forces as well as exercises, support and training missions. The ACCS deployable entities, Deployable Combined Air Operations Centre (DCOAC) and Deployable ARS (Air Operations Centre, RAP Production Centre & Sensor Fusion Post), bring the full capabilities of the static sites and are scaleable in terms of equipment and personnel depending on the size of the operation.
