Peter Wray is Vice-President for Business Development NATO at ThalesRaytheonSystems.
Founded in June 2001, ThalesRaytheonSystems is the global defense industry’s only structural joint venture equally owned by two industry leaders, Thales and Raytheon.
With sales of $700M in 2005, over 80% of which were made internationally, the company is a worldwide leader in air defense command and control systems and ground-based radars.
The company’s 1400 employees are equally split between its two sites at Massy, near Paris, France and Fullerton, California, USA.
As a member of the ThalesRaytheonSystems Leadership Team, Peter Wray is responsible for all NATO new business in TRS across all business areas.
Before taking up his current role, Wray worked as Director of Strategy and Business Development for Integrated Airborne Systems in Space and
Airborne Systems for Raytheon in El Segundo, California.
During his career at Raytheon, he has held various positions including as Director of Business Development for the Integrated Systems Division and earlier for the International Air Traffic Control Group. He has also worked as a Program Manager in Raytheon’s Air Traffic Control Directorate.
Wray served as a Wing Commander in the Royal Air Force for 22 years. His military assignments included command of an Engineering Wing responsible for the support of 68 Tornado and Buccaneer combat aircraft at RAF Honinton. He was also a Tornado Program Manager at the NATO Multi-Role Combat Aircraft Management Agency in Munich.
He completed a BSc in Electrical Engineering and graduate programs in Aero-Systems Engineering at the Royal Air Force College.
