Geoffroy de Pontevès is Chief Financial Officer of ThalesRaytheonSystems.

Founded in June 2001, ThalesRaytheonSystems is the global defense industry’s only structural joint venture equally owned by two industry leaders, Thales and Raytheon.

With sales of $900M in 2008, the company is a worldwide leader in air defense command and control systems and ground-based radars.

The company’s 1600 employees are equally split between its two sites at Massy, near Paris, France and Fullerton, California, USA.

de Pontevès’ experience spans over 20 years in finance and management. Prior to his arrival, he worked for Thales Group, specializing in international business development and acquisition. In his previous position, he was deputy general manager and financial director for Thales University where he was responsible for creating centralized training centers for employees around the world. He also created standard processes for financial teams within the organization.

Before his career with Thales Group, de Pontevès held several other positions in finance and information technology. His roles included the development and integration of business tools and process improvement. de Pontevès worked for Valeo Distribution where, while managing 300 employees, he integrated new business and oversaw finance, information technology and exports for operations in France.

de Pontevès graduated with a degree in international finance from Ecole Supérieure Libre des Sciences Commerciales Appliquées in 1989. He speaks five languages, and served in the French Air Force as a ski and sailing instructor for pilots.
